  1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for, paying for, or attending the FEES Course (“Course”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not proceed with registration.

  1. Course Description & Outcomes

The Course provides theoretical and practical training in Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), including patient selection, procedure setup, scope handling, safety, interpretation of findings, documentation, and clinical decision‑making.
Important: Completion of this Course does not in itself confer scope of practice privileges, clinical credentialing, or professional registration. It remains the participant’s responsibility to ensure compliance with their employer, professional board, insurer, and applicable legislation.

  1. Eligibility & Prerequisites

The Course is designed for qualified clinicians (e.g., Speech Pathologists/SLPs, ENTs, relevant medical professionals).

  1. Enrolment & Payment
  • Booking: Places are offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis upon full payment or confirmed invoice arrangements.
  • Fees: Course fees are listed on the website and may change without prior notice. GST (if applicable) will be shown at checkout or on your invoice.
  • Payment Methods: As listed at checkout or on your invoice (e.g., card, EFT).
  • Receipts/Tax Invoices: Issued to the email provided at booking.
  1. Cancellations, Transfers & Substitutions
  • Participant Cancellation:
    • ≥28 days before the start date: full refund less a $75 admin fee.
    • 14–27 days before start: 50% refund or one free transfer to the next available course (one time only).
    • <14 days before start or no‑show: no refund (you may nominate a substitute attendee up to 48 hours prior at no extra cost).
  • Course Changes or Cancellation by Us:
We may reschedule, relocate, change trainers, or cancel the Course for legitimate reasons (e.g., low enrolment, trainer illness, venue issues, public health orders). If cancelled, you may choose a full refund or transfer to a future date. We are not liable for any incidental costs (travel, accommodation, time off work).

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under applicable Australian consumer law. If the Course is not provided as described or is cancelled without a reasonable alternative, you may be entitled to remedies under consumer law.

  1. Health, Safety & Clinical Risk

FEES involves specialised clinical knowledge and, during practical components, handling of endoscopic equipment and simulated or supervised procedures.

  • Patient Safety: During any clinical observation or practice, participants must follow all instructions, infection control procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Medical Fitness: You must be medically fit to participate in practical components (e.g., free from communicable illness on training days).
  • Consent: Any live demonstrations involving volunteers or patients will be conducted under strict consent and safety protocols.
  • Insurance: You are responsible for your own professional and personal insurance coverage for participation.
  1. Conduct & Professional Standards

We expect respectful, safe, and professional behaviour at all times. We may ask a participant to leave (without refund) for behaviour that is unsafe, disruptive, discriminatory, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate. Where practicable, a partial refund may be considered depending on circumstances and extent of attendance.

  1. Materials, Intellectual Property & Recording
  • Course Materials: Slides, checklists, videos, and any handouts (“Materials”) are provided for personal professional development only.
  • Use: You may not copy, republish, distribute, modify, or use Materials for commercial purposes without our permission.
  • Recording: Audio/video recording of the Course is prohibited unless expressly authorised. We may record or take photos during the Course for quality, educational or social media purposes; we will seek you consent prior.
  • Trademarks/Branding: Our names, logos, and branding must not be used without permission.
  1. Certification & Attendance Requirements

A Certificate of Attendance/Completion may be issued if you:

  • attend the required percentage of the Course (including practical sessions), and
  • complete any prescribed assessments or evaluations (as applicable).
We do not guarantee competence, credentialing, or licensing. It is your responsibility to seek any workplace credentialing required to perform FEES.
  1. Privacy

We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy (available on our website). This includes your contact details, registration data, and any information you provide during the Course. If the Course includes clinical components, we will apply appropriate privacy and confidentiality safeguards. For privacy questions, contact dijana@sydneyswallowingdiagnostics.com.au.

  1. Accessibility & Special Requirements

If you have accessibility needs or require reasonable adjustments, please contact us at least 14 days prior to the Course. We will take reasonable steps to accommodate your needs where feasible.

  1. Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • We exclude all liability for indirect or consequential loss (e.g., lost income, travel costs).
  • Our total liability for any claim relating to the Course is limited to the amount of fees paid for the affected enrolment.
  • You are responsible for your clinical decisions and patient care; the Course is educational and does not substitute for clinical governance, credentialing, or supervision.
  1. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or cancellation due to events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., severe weather, venue closure, public health orders, transport disruptions, emergencies). We will notify participants and provide reasonable alternatives (reschedule, transfer, or refund).

  1. Complaints & Feedback

We welcome feedback and take complaints seriously. Please contact dijana@sydneyswallowingdiagnostics.com.au. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 business days and propose a resolution within 20 business days, where practicable.
